Need Help With Burning DVD? - download xilisoft dvd creator 3.0.26

I saved my daughter home videos on my computer, but can not find a program for burning to DVD. I tried different software, but nothing works so far. I have Nero and for any reason at all workplaces, even with the CD.
I just downloaded Xilisoft DVD Creator and does not burn at all.
I need something free.
Please help! These videos are very valuable to me and I would hate to lose!
